1. “Tough times never last, but tough people do.” ~Dr. Robert Schuller
When they say that tough times don't last, but tough people do, it means that those who are tenacious win. Those who don't expect success, give up at the first sign of disappointment.
2.“Keep your face to the sunshine and you can never see the shadow.” ~Helen Keller
The idea of keeping your face to the sunshine is that you should always look on the bright side of life. If you do so, Keller is saying, you will not see the "shadows." That means that you will not see the potential bad things that could happen to you.
3.“The power of imagination makes us infinite.” ~John Muir
The power of imagination has no boundaries. It is simply limitless and that is the idiosyncrasy of it. The ability to imagine and inculcate the value of creativity makes a man achieve all his desires and wishes and put him in a winning situation in everyday scenario of life.
4.“Don’t count the days, make the days count.” ~Muhammad Ali
I love the quote in today's title “Don't count the days… make the days count.” It is such a great reminder to stop counting the days until this or that happens, or until this or that gets done, and instead start focusing on making each day count as it is happening.
5.“Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.” ~Will Rogers
It’s often hard just getting on the right track, but you have to remember that once you’re there it’s no place to idle. You’ve got to not only get on the right track, but move yourself forward along that track once you make it there. If it took you a long time to get on the right track, you may find it daunting to have to still give a strong effort to stay on it. But things get easier as you go along, and once you have the hang of it it’s easy to stay on the right track and keep the pace so you don’t get run over.
6.“When you come to a roadblock, take a detour.” ~Mary Kay Ash
A literal roadblock is a barricade or obstruction that's meant to block traffic. ... When a driver encounters a roadblock, she has to stop and go back, or to take a detour and use a different route. This sort of roadblock might be set up to divert cars away from construction or an accident.
7.“Don’t wait. The time will never be just right.” ~Napoleon Hill
"Don't wait. The time will NEVER be just right." In his words above, Napoleon highlights a habit many of us share, waiting until circumstances are "right" to go forth and do what we want/need/have to do.
8.“Do what you can, where you are, with what you have.” ~Teddy Roosevelt
You can't always control everything around you – but you can choose how you react to the things that happen. You can cry and complain about how unfair things are and why other people have it easier, or you can pick yourself up, and get to work. You can choose do what you can with what you have where you are.
9.“The harder I work, the luckier I get.” ~Gary Player
The harder you work, the more good ideas and chances you may make for yourself. Example: Many think he got lucky in getting that fat contract, but few know he had been pursuing dozens of such contracts for several weeks – the harder you work, the luckier you get.
10.“The best way to predict the future is to invent it.” ~ Alan Kay
This quote says that the best way to know what is coming is to be an active participant. By creating your future, you are an active player in the events as they unfold. By knowing what you want, and what you are willing to do to get them, you can help to shape what the future holds.
11.“Always make a total effort, even when the odds are against you.” ~Arnold Palmer
if the odds aren't in your favor you have to give it as much effort as you possibly can if you hope to come out on top. Only you know if you're giving your full effort, so this becomes a battle with yourself more than anything else.
12.“Choosing a goal and sticking to it changes everything.” ~Scott Reed
Getting a goal is not enough, you have to stick with it if you want to accomplish it. The reason that sticking to it changes everything is that it means you'll actually achieve your goal and then you can establish your next goal from a totally different place.
13.“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” ~ Wayne Gretzky
The problem with that was summed up brilliantly by hockey Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky: "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." In other words, you can't succeed unless you try.
